She’s with her friends in her room make-up in hand
They all start to laugh as they try to stand on high-heels
Into the car, they smell like flowers
Cut from the tropics in the last few hours I say I’ll pick them up at 10 O’clock sharp

There is nothing I can do because it’s all the same
There is nothing I can do because it’s like a train
The colours have changed and so have the parts
In this story of life this is what we call a new start

So this is what the kids are doing nowadays in the Disco

They brought tickets to stand, at the side of the room
Watching the boys and starting to swoon over their hair gel
Move into the middle now they’re starting to dance
Trying out the tricks they picked up from the television

It’s 9 O’clock and the slow dance has come
Getting picked out is the most fun that they’ve had all evening
They’re kissing hello and pushing goodbye sitting in the corner and starting to cry
Asking their friends to get in touch with the other
connections through a sister or maybe a brother until they are outside

Looking at the faces of her friends
I know that this ins’t the end it’s the beginning
